Summer Ball 2

On a perfect summer’s evening over 200 Longacre staff and parents attended the legendary Summer Ball

Charitable Work

At Longacre we believe that it is important for the whole school community to be actively involved in choosing and supporting causes within our local community and globally. We also believe it is important for the children to take the lead in nominating, campaigning and fundraising as it nurtures social responsibility, empathy and an understanding of the world around them. PSHE supports this by raising awareness of some of the issues and encourages the children to discuss and debate these with their peers. Charitable giving and making a difference sits at the heart of Longacre and is embedded in our school culture.

One day each term is dedicated to fundraising and support. The children are encouraged to determine the charities supported and individual pupils are able to present a case to the School Council deciding which charity to support and ideas as to how we might raise money for the cause.

Charities we have supported in the past include:

-Motor Neurone Disease Association
-Brain Tumour Charity
-RSPCA
-Chase
-Riding for the Disabled
-WaterAid
-Children’s Liver Disease Foundation
-The Orchard Dementia Centre, Chertsey
-Local fundraising for a community playground
