Form III kicked off this half term with their annual trip to Sayers Croft this week.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Outside of the timetabled day, children are provided with an opportunity to participate in a great number of activities from sport to the creative arts, from magic to cookery. Children can remain at school to complete their homework if required. Equally, if parents are running late or simply have a work commitment, children are able to attend the After School Care facility where they can relax, play with lego, paint or play outside with their friends.

Whatever activities we choose to engage in on a co-curricular level, no examination will acknowledge the skills and assets these wider elements generate. Many children are ‘iced out’ of education as their wider interests and practical skills can never be acknowledged by the exam system. Let us therefore, continue to recognise and celebrate the many diverse accomplishments that Longacre children achieve.

The extra-curricular programme varies from one term to the next with a sample below:

Art & Craft Art Master Class Book club
Camera Club Card Games Chess Club
Cross Country English Master Class Glee Club
Gym Club ICT Club Senior Choir
Jazz Dance Junior Choir Martial Arts
Maths Games Club Mixed Hockey Musical Theatre
Music Master class Music Theory Netball
Orchestra Planet Soccer Rugby
