Form III Visit Preston Manor
The children in Form III had an authentic Victorian experience when they visited Preston Manor in Brighton. From the moment they arrived they were treated like young servants, coming to apply for work at the manor. Mr James (the footman) and Mrs Storey (head housekeeper) greeted the children and then lead the mornings activities which included making beds, polishing, scrubbing, folding sheets, cleaning silver, making biscuits, preparing food, laying tables, cleaning carpets, washing clothes, polishing boots and beating rugs.
After enjoying a Victorian lunch the children then travelled to Hove Museum, where Adrian showed them a fantastic range of Victorian artefacts. Everyone really enjoyed the day and being dressed as real Victorian children for the day really added to the whole experience.
