Life before Longacre
My passion is History, so I chose to study this at university. I then completed a Primary PGCE and a Masters degree in Inclusive Education. Prior to my role at Longacre, I was a Year 3 and then a Year 4 class teacher in the state sector. I decided I wanted to focus on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, so applied for a role at Longacre.
Roles at School
I am currently the Head of Learning Support and teach a mixture of individual support sessions, English and Verbal Reasoning. I am also the SENCo for the school, so I oversee the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs. I run a touch-typing club for SEND pupils during lunchtime and take part in an intervention clinic for Form VI pupils who would like to revise VR topics ready for Common Entrance examinations.
Away from the Classroom
When I am not working, my chosen activities follow my interest in History and so I enjoy spending time in museums and art galleries. I also enjoy visiting historical sites both locally and abroad.
