Life before Longacre
After completing a B.Ed. degree at Christ Church, Canterbury, (main subject: Eng. Lit.), I travelled to the U.S.A. and studied black and white photography at the Columbus College of Art and Design, Ohio, for one year. On return, I ran a Nursery of 40 children in the morning and set up a tuition school for pupils up to ‘A Level’ in the afternoon. Then, I took up a full-time position as Form II teacher in a prep school and was appointed Head of Nursery and Pre Prep. After many happy years I decided to gain valuable experience in the state sector where I taught all ages. Long holidays were spent teaching English to Italian students at summer school!
Roles at School
I started teaching at Longacre in September 2002. At present, I teach Form I and run the Junior Art Club.
Away from the Classroom
My main passions are music (my main instrument is the piano), art and art history (I love to visit galleries), English literature and the theatre. I also follow sport fanatically, especially Rugby Union and cricket!
