Life before Longacre
I completed a four year degree at St Mary’s University College in London in Secondary PE. I have worked in senior schools since 2008, most recently at a school in South London where I was Head of PE and Associate Vice-Principal. However an affinity for the little ones, realised whilst coaching at Half Backs Rugby on the weekends in South West London, led me to seek out employment in the prep school sector. And I haven’t looked back since! Walking into a Reception class and having the entire class cheer as they are so excited for their PE lesson is certainly something I never experienced at senior school! I look forward to my weekly haircut on Kindergarten duty, where in the ‘salon’ I have my hair combed with a plastic fork and dyed a rainbow glitter colour! It truly is a pleasure to help to inspire and develop a love of sport in the children I teach at Longacre.
Roles at School
I am Head of Sport at Longacre and also Head of Trafalgar which my competitive side lends itself well to. Trafalgar have been crowned winners of Sports Day for the past two years I’ve worked here and no doubt we will make it three in a row this year!
Away from the Classroom
Unsurprisingly as Head of Sport, outside of school I love anything sports related. I am currently captain at Teddington RFC, so if you spot any cuts or bruises, no I haven’t been involved in any fights at the weekend! I am a terrible surfer but carry on regardless and have a particular fondness for Croyde Bay in Devon. I love to travel and where finances allow try to get away a few times a year, however I still have a lot of countries that need to be ticked off the bucket list. I enjoy playing piano and find it a good way to unwind.
