Life Before Longacre
I have been a teacher since graduating from Kingston University in 1997. In my career I have experience of teaching all year groups from Reception to Year 8 in roles from supply teacher to year leader and subject manager, from inner London boroughs to rural communities. Working in Infant, First, Junior, Primary, Pre-Prep, Prep and Middle schools has given me ample perspectives of the world of education, helping me to see what works well.
I have also worked in the International Distribution sector, in Adult Education and for the library service as a digital inclusion officer.
Roles at School
I teach computing to all year groups from Reception to Form VI and maths to Form IV. I hope to be able to further enthuse the children about using different technology in their learning as it is an ever present and constantly evolving feature in all of our lives, especially for the current generation.
Away from the Classroom
I am a keen reader whether it is a good novel or a historical text. I enjoy history on a personal level and am interested in most aspects of films and filmmaking. Ever since my first appointment as an ICT co-ordinator in 1999, I like to have an insight into aspects of this field and keep informed about new initiatives so as to remain relevant to new technologies and their practical applications, both socially and educationally. Always keen to socialize and travel, I have been planning to travel from Lands’ End to John O’Groats which was due to take place in 2020 and hopefully will be achieved soon. I have always been a keen writer and it has been a dream of mine to be published.
