Life before Longacre

After living in both South Korea and Japan I moved to the UK over twenty years ago. Prior to working in education, I was an HR professional working in various international organisations. My work involved long hours and lots of travelling, so after I had my own child I decided to focus on parenting.

Through getting to know my daughter’s carers and teachers I developed an interest in early-years education and it soon developed into my new career. I have worked with children at nursery level, at primary schools and at a Special Educational Needs school for children aged 4-18. Last year I spent a few weeks at Longacre providing Teaching Assistant supply cover for the Kindergarten. Now, I’m delighted to become a more regular member of the Longacre team.

Roles at School

I’m a 1:1 Learning Support Teaching Assistant, working in the Pre-Prep. I work closely with an individual pupil, supporting their learning and helping them to enjoy life at Longacre.

Away from the Classroom

In my spare time I volunteer as a steward at the Watts Gallery in Compton where I also have the opportunity to learn more about drawing and painting.  In general, I love art and crafts and enjoy going for walks with the family to parks and gardens. I also swim regularly at a local leisure club.

My husband and I both enjoy travel and learning about other cultures. I can also speak several languages including Japanese, Spanish and my native language, Korean.
