The award, presented by LTA Surrey Tennis, recognises schools that demonstrate outstanding commitment to developing tennis opportunities while inspiring a lifelong love of the game.

A Whole-School Approach to Tennis at Longacre School

At Longacre, tennis is woven into everyday school life. From Nursery through to Year 6, pupils are introduced to the sport through inclusive, high-quality coaching that supports both enjoyment and progression.

Tennis forms part of our broad and balanced curriculum, enriched by:

  • Thriving after-school tennis clubs and squads
  • Competitive fixtures and tournament opportunities
  • Holiday camps and additional training sessions
  • Clear development pathways for talented players

This approach ensures that tennis remains accessible to every child, while also providing opportunities for those who wish to pursue the sport at a higher level.

Sport plays a vital role in building confidence, resilience, teamwork and perseverance — values that extend far beyond the tennis court. We are immensely proud that our tennis provision has been recognised at county level and look forward to continuing to develop opportunities for all our pupils.

Winning LTA Surrey Tennis School of the Year 2026 is a wonderful milestone for Longacre School and a celebration of our thriving sporting community.
