Young Voices 2026 once again proved why it is one of the most anticipated events in the UK school music calendar. This year, 51 members of the Longacre Prep Choir, accompanied by 9 members of staff, travelled to the iconic The O2 Arena to perform as part of the Young Voices 2026 concert — joining more than 8,000 young singers from schools across the country.
From the moment our pupils stepped into the arena, the scale and atmosphere of this extraordinary event were unforgettable. Afternoon rehearsals were filled with focus, energy and excitement as the choir prepared a diverse and uplifting programme alongside thousands of fellow performers.
As the evening audience arrived, the anticipation grew. When the arena lights dimmed and thousands of torches illuminated the space, it created a truly magical moment. Spotting proud Longacre families in the audience made the experience even more special for our pupils.
Celebrating 30 Years of Young Voices
The 2026 concert marked the 30th anniversary of Young Voices, and the repertoire reflected the occasion. Powerful anthems such as Power in Me and Something Inside So Strong created spine-tingling moments of unity, with their uplifting messages resonating throughout the arena.
The lively Sea Shanty Medley brought energy and fun, while the dramatic Wicked Medley allowed the children to embrace theatrical performance. The vibrant Disco Fever number had the entire arena clapping and dancing, and the ever-popular Pop Medley 2026 filled The O2 with colour, movement and joy.
Adding to the spectacle, the electrifying choreography from Urban Strides inspired some impressive dance moves — not only from our choir but from the audience as well. The sense of togetherness throughout the evening was remarkable. Hearing 8,000 young voices singing in harmony is an experience that truly has to be witnessed to be believed.
Building Confidence Through Music
Beyond the music, Young Voices offers pupils invaluable opportunities to develop confidence, teamwork and resilience. Our children demonstrated all of these qualities in abundance. They supported one another, sang with commitment and represented Longacre with pride and professionalism.
We are incredibly grateful to Laura Jordan for organising the parent coach so seamlessly, and to our dedicated staff team whose time, enthusiasm and care ensured the evening ran smoothly and memorably.
A Memorable Experience for Our Prep School Pupils
Young Voices 2026 was far more than a concert. It was an opportunity for our pupils to be part of something truly awe-inspiring — performing at one of the UK’s most famous venues and experiencing the power of large-scale collaborative music-making.
The smiles on their faces said it all. It was a night filled with music, pride and unforgettable memories that will stay with them for years to come.
