Life before Longacre

I’m a classically trained, professional singer and many years ago (!) I started teaching singing at a couple of schools in-between gigs and session work, and Longacre was one of them! It was Longacre that inspired me to study a PGCE, to become a qualified teacher and where I gained the desire for children to experience the joy of music; the positivity, creativity and sense of achievement it imparts.

Roles at School

As the Head of Music I have an incredible job because I teach the whole school, which enables to me to get to know every child and foster their love of music from an early age. With myself and our fantastic peripatetic teachers, the music department offers vocal and instrumental lessons, choirs, orchestras, ensemble groups and rock groups; a chance for everybody to shine!

Away from the Classroom

I’m definitely a home person and find the greatest enjoyment from being at home, attempting to do some DIY or painting canvases. My now seven month old puppy Cola, keeps me on my toes!
