Life before Longacre

Following my studies in Fashion Photography at university, I decided to spend some time nurturing my creative side and came across a wonderful photographer who gave me the opportunity to gain some valuable experience working alongside her. Finding myself with some free time, I happily accepted the chance to work voluntarily at a primary school and discovered my love of working with children. This experience then led to me accepting work in SEN settings which, although challenging, I thoroughly enjoyed. It was shortly after working on a temporary contract at Longacre that I decided on a complete career change and haven’t looked back since.

Roles at School

I instantly felt so welcomed into the Longacre family when I took on the role of part-time teaching assistant in Form I. I immediately engaged with the ethos of the school and being surrounded by such enthusiastic, talented and unique little people makes for the most rewarding day. Being part of the Longacre team has inspired me to further my own education in supporting the children and I have completed the NVQ Level 3 in ‘Supporting Teaching and Learning’.

Away from the Classroom

When I’m not at school I enjoy photography, socialising with friends and going on walks.
