Life before Longacre

As a PE and Games teacher I think it is safe to assume that a passion for sport is evident. From a very young age my focus has always been on developing as a team sportsman and pursuing any opportunity to make my interests, my work. I studied Sports Science for 3 years at Brunel University and then worked as a personal trainer before realising my passion to work with children and help to develop their passion for sport. I completed my teaching qualifications on the job teaching from Nursery to Upper Sixth. Coming from a family of teachers, I guess it is safe to say it was my calling. I recently worked at a school in Hindhead, running the boys sport and taking an important role in the boys’ pastoral care. In fact, my last fixture for them was against Longacre!

Roles at school

I have joined Longacre as a PE and Games teacher and I cannot wait to get to know all your children. I aim to be an inspirational and supportive teacher, helping to encourage the development of many key characteristics such as leadership, sportsmanship, teamwork and communication.

Away from the classroom

I think it is obvious that my hobbies and interests revolve heavily around sport. I have a keen interest in cricket, football and rugby along with the plan of rowing across the Atlantic in 2 or 3 years time – the training starts now! Aside from sport, my family is my passion – I have a 14 month old son and an 8 year old ‘teenager’ who put me through my paces.
