Life before Longacre

Originally from South Africa, I studied Graphic Design and enjoyed a successful advertising career. Becoming a mother changes your sense of purpose, which led me on an entrepreneurial path, in which time I established my freelance design consultancy, setup an extramural art and craft club at my daughter’s school and launched a socially driven “pop-up” art class, where I taught adults to paint. I moved to the UK in 2016 and worked as a Teaching Assistant in a local primary school and completed my Teaching Assistant and SEND Diplomas.

Roles at School

As a Teaching Assistant in Form II, my aim is to stimulate, encourage and develop confidence in each child by helping provide a positive and collaborative learning environment.

Away from the Classroom

Family life is busy and keeping up with my two daughters in their various school activities and sporting pursuits, tending to our menagerie at home and outings including walking our Golden Retriever, Holly doesn’t allow for much ‘me’ time. Time permitting and with a cup of tea in hand I escape to draw and paint.
