Life before Longacre

Having parents and grandparents as teachers, I grew up determined never to become a teacher. After graduating, I started my career working for a hospice as People, Learning and Development Manager. Here, my passion for lifelong learning and holistic care began. Inevitably, the teacher-bug caught up with me, so I left my role to dip my toe in the waters of Education. I completed my PGCE and QTS in 2015 and I have never looked back. Since qualifying, I have taught English, Maths, History and Games across Year 4 to 8.

Roles at school

I am Head of English and teach classes in Forms IV-VI. In this role, I endeavour to create a curious and diligent work environment for all pupils in which they continue to foster their love of learning of English, compound their enjoyment of reading and work towards the 11+. I also teach Games and oversee the pupil written termly newspaper.

Away from the classroom

I’m an avid foodie, who loves the outdoors and spending time with friends and family. Lacrosse is my favourite sport of all time and when the holidays call, I like to explore new places.
