Form V visit to the National Gallery

Posted: 6th March 2017

The Form V children enjoyed a trip to the National Gallery in London last week.  Richard, our fantastic tour guide, took us through a workshop called ‘Take One Picture’.  The aim of the talk was to really investigate the clues left behind in paintings and to use our detective skills to work out what the artist was trying to say, what the painting was about and also how paintings make us feel. Our last painting was a Turner masterpiece, the children’s firm favourite. We were so proud of the questions asked and the pupil’s inquisitive and curious nature as well as their impeccable manners!  We managed to get in a little sight-seeing too and enjoyed the street performers in Trafalgar Square.  Thank you Mrs Taylor and Dr Rowe for accompanying us – great fun for all!
