We are extremely proud of all our Form VI pupils who are once again celebrating outstanding 11+ exam results this year. Between them they have received a total of 59 offers of senior school places from 17 senior schools across Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire.
In addition there were a record number of scholarships awarded to Form VI pupils this year. A total of 21 scholarships and exhibitions (19 scholarships, 1 award and 1 exhibition) for academic achievement or talent in sport, music, art or drama were awarded to Longacre pupils. Overall 13 pupils out of a cohort of 32 pupils (40%) were awarded a scholarship or exhibition.
Special congratulations also go to those Longacre pupils who were awarded scholarships which this year included five academic scholarships (Reigate Grammar (3), King Edward’s and Duke of Kent), 9 sports scholarships (King Edward’s (3), Reigate Grammar (2), Duke of Kent (2), Prior’s Field and St John’s), five music scholarships and exhibitions (Tormead, Prior’s Field, Cranleigh, Churcher’s College and St John’s) , one art scholarship (King Edward’s) and one drama scholarship (St Edmund’s).
Matthew Bryan, Headmaster said “We are immensely proud of every single one of our Form VI pupils. They have earned a record-breaking haul of scholarships and places to a wide range of prestigious senior schools, each child finding the right fit for them – be that single-sex or co-ed, independent or state, large or small, boarding or day. My thanks go to all of their teachers, who have steered the children to a position whereby they could gain places at these schools. The children have achieved all this while engaging fully in their Forest school, philosophy lessons and the full range of creative pursuits. What is more, they have done it all with a happy heart and a smile on their faces – that’s the Longacre way.”
