On Tuesday it was the Nursery children’s turn to enjoy their Empty Classroom Day. The sun was shining as the children headed down to the woods to start their day. We started by collecting some fire wood and then got stuck into a range of activities. The children learned how to use a bow saw, played with the mud kitchen, painted with mud, built towers out of wooden bricks and they also did some bird watching and minibeast hunting. We gathered together mid-morning to enjoy a snack and a drink and then the fire was lit. We had great fun toasting marshmallows before tidying away to get ready for lunch. After a super morning in the woods, we moved up to the Quad to enjoy our picnic lunch where the children continued the fun as they spotted a few butterflies. What a super day!
