Green Team Car Boot Sale

Posted: 14th October 2021

Our second ever Green Team car boot sale was held last sunny Saturday, to highlight our need to think more carefully about our consumption, and reuse where we can. We were raising money for Surrey Wildlife Trust and funds to enable our new Badger Wood hide and bird viewing area to be maintained.

The car boot sale proved to be a great success; we had 18 pitches filled by parents and the local community, and ran our own Green Team stall along with a tea, coffee and home made cake stall.

We took donations on the gate, and invited the very popular wood burning pizza van to provide much appreciated and delicious lunchtime pizzas. The Green Team and Community Service Club children were all amazing at helping on their own, and the school’s stalls. The School Council treasurer, Dan, also played a vital role in sorting out all the floats, and collecting the funds from the pitches. It was a great team effort, supported so enthusiastically by a number of staff members as well as amazing parents.

Michaela Mackenzie and Bex Aziz were instrumental in getting the show on the road, through their advertising and managing the bookings, so a HUGE thank you to them. We are delighted to say that we raised £520 in total, and thanks to the additional sponsorship of a kind parent, we will be donating £320 to Surrey Wildlife Trust, leaving us with £370 for Badger Wood.

Thank you to all the parents and children who supported us – hopefully this will be an annual event that will be held every October.
